TEAMS Conference '97

April 11th and 12th

The 1997 Tennessee Educators of Aquatic and Marine Science Conference will be held at Reelfoot Lake State Park, located in northwest Tennessee (6-7 hours from Chattanooga and 2-3 hours from Memphis). Reelfoot Lake was partially formed by a series of violent earthquakes during the winter of 1811-12. These New Madrid Earthquakes may have been some of the most powerful to have ever hit the continental United States. Reelfoot National Wildlife Refuge and State Park lands cover approximately 25,000 acres of which 15,000 are water and wetlands. It is recognized as the world's largest natural fish hatchery and has long been an attraction for fishermen, hunters, naturalists, and photographers.
